Check your mod's requirements
Different mods specify different cell sizes (18650, 21700) and continuous-discharge ratings. The number stamped on the mod is the only one that matters.

Cells ship at storage charge
Shipping regulations cap lithium cells at around 30 percent state-of-charge. Charge to full in an external charger before first use.

Always in pairs (or as specified)
Dual-cell mods need matched pairs — same brand, same age, charged together. Mixing pairs is the most common cause of imbalanced discharge.

Any tear, rip, or burn mark in the heat-shrink wrap means the cell is unsafe to use. Rewrap or replace before installing — don't carry naked cells loose in a pocket.

Charge in an external charger
Charge cells in a dedicated external charger (Nitecore, Xtar, etc.), not through the mod's USB-C. External chargers balance cell voltage and end at 4.20 V cleanly.

Don't deep-discharge
Cells should not be drained below 3.20 V. The mod usually warns first — change cells when it does, not after the next session.
