Lithium cells ship at storage charge (around 30 percent) per shipping regulations. Charge to full before first use; never deep-discharge or charge above 4.20 V.

Cell-bay count vs cells you own
A four-bay charger doesn't need four cells — empty bays are fine. Match bays to how many cells you cycle in a typical week.

USB-C in, separate from the mod
Modern external chargers are USB-C powered but charge independently from the mod's port. Use the wall brick the charger ships with — it has the right output for balanced charging.

Don't fast-charge daily
Most chargers offer a fast-charge mode. Use it occasionally; slower 0.5 A charging extends total cell life noticeably.

Charge on a hard surface
Soft fabric blocks the charger's vent slots and traps heat. Bedside table top, not bedside table cushion.
